This milk bottle was donated recently (2021) by Stephen Wray. We dont have any exact dates when this business was in operation but have been told that Joyce Berry, who lived in Marshchapel, used to deliver milk for Cliff Wray in the 1940s - on her bike.
Frank Whiteleys Butchers shop on Sea Dyke Way, Marshchapel. The pony was called Roger, and the photograph was taken before the Whiteleys moved to Torrington Street, Grimsby.

Marshalls Shop on the corner of Littlefield Lane and Sea Dyke Way. This photograph was taken after 1930, when Mr Henry Marshall bought the premises.
The Garage on Sea Dyke Way, Marshchapel - Circa; 1940s / 50s. At this time it was called The Red Garage and was owned by John Darke. The old Blacksmith shop can be seen just beyond the garage.
This photograph of Marshchapel Motors was taken around 1984, when Mr and Mrs Smiles owned the garage. Please note the price of fuel, £1.75, and that was for a gallon, not a litre. Price of fuel today "September 2018", is £1.29 per litre.

Sowbys Shop looking down Hallgarth. The building at the far end was known as the Bus House where the vans were parked with the bakery being at the rear. This was turned into a residence.
The sale details of Sowbys Stores. Unfortunately the date of this is not known.
