Lizzie Hook

This is Ophelia Humberston -also known as Euphamy in the 1861 census. She was born at Saltfleet in 1786 but lived in Marshchapel for many yeas and had 8 children here, including twin girls.
Her death is not recorded in the Church register but she received 5 shillings from the Village Charity in 1867 and that was the last record of her.

Third from the left is Hilda Sargent and last on the right is Mrs Hurton who was a teacher at the school.

Florence was born in 1882 and died 7 January 1959.

The Golden Wedding celebration of Joseph and Florence Elvin.
This photograph was taken at the back of their cottage on the corner of Sea Dyke Way and North Lane.
A range of outbuildings ran at right angles from the cottage down North Lane.
Joseph died 9 May 1952

This photograph was taken at the rear of the home of Joseph and Florence Elvin on the corner of Sea Dyke Way and North Lane.
Standng next to Mrs Elvin is Harold Turner who lodged with them for a while.
Harold ran the Red garage on Sea Dyke Way, Marshchapel, for many years.
