This picture shows Mr Percy Lyons having a bonfire.
In the background can be seen the shed in the School House garden and the Mill House with its orchard.

Mr Percy Smith Lyons and Mrs Norah Lyons
Both were teachers at Marshchapel School.
Mrs Lyons was the daughter of Fred and Maud Wray - village bakers.
This picture was taken in the School House garden c. 1948 or 1950.
In the background is The Mill, at the time owned by Clifford Wray.

We not sure what this event was but they seem to have won a large amount of "silverware".

Sam lived in a wooden bungalow in Lowgate - now demolished.

This photograph was taken outside the cottage that was down the green lane in Duckthorpe Lane on the right hand side past the farm workshops. All that remans is a copse of trees.

This photograph is of Phyllis who was the daughter of Alf and Beatrice Wright who ran the village fish and chip shop.
Although the photograph has no date on it, it was probably taken in the early 20th Century.
She went on to run the village fish and chip shop for many years.

Alice and Harry Pickard.
Alice was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Elvin of Marshchapel.
This photograph was thought to have been taken in the early 1930s.
Alice had a twin sister, Emma and two more sisters Ivy and May.

Roy, Alan and John Pickard who is standing in front of Alan.Their cottage in North Cotes can be seen in the background.
The horses belonged to their Father, Harry Pickard. He had a market garden business and rented various pieces of land, some in Marshchapel at the rear of Cockle Row and Jubilee Cottages, Sea Dyke Way.
This photograph was taken in 1951 or 1952.

They lived at Thoresby Bridge. C. 1938 or 1939.

Joy Pickard whose daughter lived in Marshchapel for a while. This photograph was taken at her wedding in Jamaica to Charlie Corsion in 1958.

On the reverse of this photograph is written:
"Rose Cottage, next to Fern Cottage, Marshchapel opposite signpost."
The child on the horse is thought to be Alan Pickard c. 1938.

Pip Brooks
He lived at the White Horse, Marshchapel for many yers when his family ran the pub.
You will notice his finger is bandaged where his Grandmother caught it in the door.
As a treat she took him to Wonderland, Cleethorpes for the day where this photograph was taken.

This photograph was thought to have been taken at the last Ploughing Match which was held on Mossops land at Marshchapel.
Midge Jackson is on the left and Doreen Woodward on the right with two of the plough horses at the event. C. 2009.
