This photograph is of Wally and Nora Sargents garden at their wooden bungalow in Littlefield Lane
This photo was taken in 1983.

George Irelands invoice for work done on Sargents bungalow.

This picture of Sargents bungalow in Littlefield Lane shows that the other similar bungalow next door had been demolished and a new house built in its place.

Sea Dyke Way looking north.
On the left can be seen the sign for the Greyhound Inn and the Fish and Chip shop.

Bonners Cottage can be seen on the right, just before the corner shop which was open at that time.
This photograph was taken before the layby was built in front of Fieldsend Terrace.
This was to give motorists a parking space whilst visiting the shop.

The old Caudwells workshop can be seen on the right (painted white) with the Marshchapel Service Station and car sales forecourt in front.
This photograph was taken in 2011 and it looks as if the sale of fuel had stopped by then.

On the left is the Blacksmiths cottage where Stan and Nancy Lowis lived.
This was a new property built on the site of the old cottage which was demolished.
Next to it can be seen the Blacksmiths workshop and in the distance Marshchapel Service Station.

"The Hall" in Hallgarth in Marshchapel which was built in 1719.
It may be assumed that Hallgarth got its name as the houses there now may have been built on the original Hall garden.

The School House, Mill Lane, Marshchapel.
This photograph looks as if it was taken from the edge of the Mill Field before the row of bungalows was built along Sea Dyke Way.

The turning to Church Lane can be seen in the bottom of the photograph
The first property on the right was built in the garden of the first house on the left in Church Lane. The second propert (white bungalow) replaced a cottage which looked similar.
The third on the right is the Old Bakery.
The date is unknown but from a series of photographs that came with this one it could be from mid 1970s onwards.

Sea Dyke Way, Marshchapel
On the left can be seen the old bakery and further on the Chapel (now demolished).
On the right is Riggalls workshop (now demolihed).
There is a small building with a chimney in the distance and this was the old fish and chip shop.

Sea Dyke Way with the "Greyhound Inn"on the left and "Lapstone Villa" on the right.
There is no date on this photograph but from the code 313-1 it could have been part of a series of local photographs.
It doesnt appear that Fieldsend Terrace was built then and nothing can be seen of the fish and chip shop or butchers.
This could have been taken in the 1920s or even earlier.

Sedgebeck, West End Lane, Marshchapel.

This property used to be a village shop and has now been turned into two houses.

This bungalow was built on the site of a Lincolnshire Long House in West End, Marshchapel.
Dont confuse West End with West End Lane. West End is an area on Church Lane which goes towards the crossroads (straight on to the canal or turn right for West End Lane.)
The original building was demolished in around 1948.

The Old Post Office in Church Lane, Marshchapel. Just over the entrance can be seen the sign saying "Smiths".
Jim and Nora Smith came to Marshchapel in 1949.
This photograph was taken from a Postcard donated by Ann Frith,
but unfortunately the Postcard was unused and so undated.
The white cottage to the left of the Post Office was demolished, probably some time
in the early 1970s to make way for the entrance to Harpham Road.

Digging our way out - 16 February 1979
Sea Dyke Way on the outskirts of the village looking towards North Cotes.

1979. Heavy snow on Sea Dyke Way.
In the distance can be seen the entrance to North Lane.

1979 Rookery Farm, then Caudwells Farm Offices, can be seen in the background.
This building is on the left when turning from Duckthorpe Lane and heading towards North Cotes.

Snowdrifts in 1979 in the yard of Rookery Farm which at the time was the office of Caudwells Farm.

Thatched Cottage in Hallgarth.
This was situated adjacent to the old bakery which was attached to the village stores.
It was thought to still be in existence in the mid 1930s.
