This photograph from the Louth Canal Flood of 1960 shows the white house at the junction of Firebeacon Lane. It can be seen how close to the Canal it actually was.
Top righ of the picture show the left and right hand bends in Firebeacon Lane which now lead to Covenham Reservoir.
The Reservoir was built between 1963 and 1978.
