This cottage, opposite the playing field in North Cotes, was the home of Harry and Alice Pickard and their sons.
It is thought to be one of the first of six original cottages, built in North Cotes for shepherds, some 400/500 years ago (i.e. in the 1500's).
Originally it had 500 acres of land. The construction was mud and stud and would have had a thatched roof, which was later converted with corrugated tin.
It had two bedrooms with a portable ladder access. It was demolished in 1975 when two detached houses were built on the site.
